Graduates

May is the month for graduations. Over Mother's Day weekend, Amy (my step sister) graduated from Jefferson College of Health Sciences with an AD in Respiratory Therapy. Over Memorial Day weekend, Barrett graduated from the MBA program at Elon University. Nathan, my youngest nephew, graduated from pre-school. Here are some of the pictures. Congrats to all of the graduates and their accomplishments. Here are a few pictures of the graduates and family members.

33 week update

I had a doctor's appointment for my 33 week check up last week. Mikaela is measuring where she is supposed to be measuring and her heart rate was 137. My ankles are REALLY swollen and my fingers are numb from swelling but other than that, I am good. My blood pressure is fine, if not low. Of course, I am not drinking enough water, but in order to drink all that I am supposed to, I would have to where a camel pack and insert a foley to get through the day! So, it simply will probably not happen.

31 week update

I went to the doctor today and everything is right on target. Mikaela is measuring where she is supposed to be measuring. Her heart rate is 147. My blood pressure is great and I have been back on track with the appropriate weight gain. (Even with the hot fudge sundae Brian bought me last night for Mother's Day.)
It is great having Brian home - finally. He has been working on the nursery. I hope to have pictures soon of his progress.
I believe that there will also be more pictures of the baby shower that our church family gave me. When I get them I will post them. Of course, I forgot my camera so I didn't have one at the shower. Dad surprised me when he came. He and Debbie were coming back from the beach. Pam Smith made all of the crib bedding in the pictures. She is amazing. Thanks to everyone at church for celebrating with me.

28 week update and nursery fabric

These are few of the pictures of the nursery fabric, crib skirt and beginning of the quilt. I believe we are going to do the walls in white and yellow. Wanted to share the theme.

I also had my 28 week check up today and Mikaela is measuring where she is supposed to and is very active. Her heart rate is 147. I have gained 2 pounds the past 2 weeks so I am getting my weight back under control. It went a little over last month. My blood pressure is good, which they are keeping a closer eye on because I am swelling in my feet and legs quite a bit. Actually, I had no idea that my feet and legs could get SO LARGE - and I still have awhile to go, not to mention hot weather. Everyone at work and church are making me sit down and put up my feet all the time. But I am not complaining. It is nice to know that I have so many people I can count on.

Brian will be home THIS SATURDAY!!!!!!!! Maybe he can take a picture of my poor swollen feet and we can post them. I am not making any promises. It is a bit disturbing.

26 week update

This past Sunday, April 6th, I went with Daddy, Barrett, Noah and Nathan to Lincoln Theater to see "Pickin' for Pets". It was a bluegrass benefit for Wake SPCA. We saw IIIRD Tyme Out and a few other bands. It was nice to hang out with some of the men in my life.....
I think Mikaela likes bluegrass as much as her Pop Pop and cousins because it felt like she was trying to clog when IIIRD Tyme Out played an upbeat song. Maybe between dad's grandchildren, someone will learn to play and sing bluegrass.

I went to my 26 week appointment this past Monday and Mikaela measured right where she is supposed to be. I passed my glucose tolerance test so that is good news too. However, I got a little lecture on weight gain and not drinking enough water. I don't know how they expect you to drink all that water. But I will try my best to eat better and drink as much water as possible. My next appointment is in 2 weeks.

Brian has informed me that he will be home at the end of April. We are counting down the days til we can see each other.
